Montana Factoids:
- Eastern Montana is a vast land of rolling hills, farms, cows and windmills (kind of like ND, sorry MT)
- Fourth in size but 44th in population, which is our kind of place
- There is no cell service on several of the Indian reservations we passed through - this could be a blog post in and of itself.
- Western MT is a gorgeous mix of mountains, trees and rivers, also our kind of place, and one of the reasons why we came here.
I won't bore you with all the interim details but we landed at Spruce Park on the River RV Park in Kalispell and couldn't have asked for a more beautiful spot or view. The large photo above IS the view from our site. We would highly recommend this place for the scenery and the friendliness of the owners.
On the drive in the weather was spotty to say the least with fog so thick we almost pulled over, then the sky lifted and we got some gorgeous views as we traveled the southern edge of Glacier finally arriving in Kalispell.
We contacted our old high school friend, Amy Vanderbilt, who with her husband, Gary Moses, have lived and worked here in the Park for 25 years. Will be getting together for dinner which we're really looking forward to.
After our week of travel we had to attend to all of our daily living and maintenance issues like laundry, groceries and cleaning. Speaking of cleaning....what a dream in RVilla! Thirty minutes and done, now that's the amount of time I want to spend doing housework. We settled down to a nice pot of spicy lentil soup for dinner.
Today, Tuesday is rainy so will run some additional errands and spend the day planning our trip after we leave this beautiful place.
